For those of you who tuned in and saw Pajama Cast # 4, will recall that I spoke to how I did not feel compelled to check out Con Edison on Facebook.  I learned of their presence on facebook through their branding on their monthly bills.  Since putting out the video, I did go check out their facebook fan page.  Additionally they responded with their own video, you can watch here.

Their fan page is in fact engaging, value added, and well put together along with additional social media channels on twitter and youtube.  I figured that there were going to be several outcomes that would result from my initial video and blog post, I share them in my video and discuss how this response is an example for other brands navigating the social media landscape.

One recommendation?  An Intro tab, using an FBML application (facebook’s version of HTML), perhaps called “Welcome” or “About Power on Green”.   They can also edit the landing page for all users who go to the fan page for the first time to land on this new tab.  This will help new users who go on this page for the first time and have no direction as to what this campaign is about.
