I wanted to quickly write up this post and thank Joseph Jaffe for dropping by to guest lecture for my NYU students. Jaffe, as I call him, is a pioneer in this new media. An unofficial mentor, Jaffe has opened up the minds of brands, forward thinking marketers, and students of new media, to communicate to consumers in an authentic conversations. He has also authored 3
books, “Life after the 30 second spot“, “Join the Conversation“, and his just released, “Flip the Funnel“.
I had the pleasure of meeting him in a spontaneous tweetup over a year ago. Knowing that he probably had a tight

schedule, I took a chance in inviting him, but he was graciousness enough to make it happen. I knew he would
enlighten our class and provide some key examples on how some brands are not yet quite embracing this new “conversation”, and he did it impressively. Jaffe, thanks for providing us with a new angle, our class appreciated it!

you’re most welcome. I enjoyed it too!

No wonder why Joseph Jaffe is a star in social media. He’s not only an expert on the topic but is also interesting, entertaining, and thoroughly enjoyable. Thanks for inviting him to speak to our class.

Joseph Jaffe had me laughing so hard that it brought me to tears. On the walk home I realized that I learned more in one hour than I had even realized. It was like watching two episodes of Tosh.O but turning off the television and feeling inspired, exhilarated and a bit more intelligent. I could have listened to Joseph Jaffe speak for another three hours. I know I was not alone in that sentiment. Irreverant, inspiring and wonderful. Thank you for the coup.

Reuben, great choice in speakers!! Joseph Jaffe was engaging and had intelligent insight in the how effective (or detrimental) social media can be for brands. Jaffe’s charming Aussie accent made it sweet on the ears as well
Looking forward to tuning in on some of his pod-casts.
