Did Yelp Do The Right Thing?
Last week was feverish, to say the least. Google has been turned down from an advanced negotiation with Yelp.com, which had apparently walked away from the $550 million deal – a gutsy move, I must admit, read the full post here, a contribution to the Path Interactive Blog.
This will probably their biggest deal ever, that they’ll ever see or turn down. Good for Yelp!
I have a sneaking suspicion that Google is running out of time as more and more people and businesses learn about SEM/SEO practices that DO NOT include paying Google $4,000 a month.
Google is looking to monetize in different venues as their market share continues to drop against Bing and others.
I believe we are seeing the beginnings of the next phase of the Internet…think of it as Web 2.5. heh.
